About The Position

The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Epic Sr. Analyst, Quality and Population Health. The Epic Sr. Analyst, Quality and Population Health, initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies complex applications, and collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access. The incumbent supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues. As an Epic Sr. Analyst – Quality and Population Health, you will: Build and maintain Clinician’s workflow and HEDIS quality measure for Medicare Advantage programs Build and maintain CMS Quality Payment Program (MIPS/MVP/MACRA) and other government programs in Epic Build and maintain clinician’s workflow for eCQM and Promoting Interoperability. Working knowledge of clinical standard terminology, clinical workflows, user interface optimization, clinical decision support, health maintenance, rules development, data integration and mining, and adoption of technology. In-depth knowledge of business intelligence functions, advanced analytics, industry standards, and best practices Build Epic clinical and administrative workflows implementation Serve as a support contact for application end‐users Design, develop, implement, and maintain the application Support all phases of testing and document workflow design Perform analysis of new releases and determine how they will impact workflow Identify issues and work to resolve them Provide day-to-day application support, evaluate and resolve service tickets, implement requested application changes, and retrieve requested data in a timely manner Collaborate with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies Maintain regular communication with team members and participate in weekly project team meetings Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership Become knowledgeable about UHealth’s policies, procedures, and business operations This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Epic Healthy Planet or Ambulatory Certification
  • 3 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization
  • Previous operational, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Epic Kaleidoscope certification preferred
  • Preferable to have build experience in Epic Kaleidoscope module.
  • Familiarity with case or care management workflows and wellness programs.
  • Familiarity with or background in quality reporting initiatives such as MA, ACOs/MSSP, and MU.
  • Familiarity with health plan concepts and workflows.
  • Familiarity with outside claims data ingestion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access.
  • Serves as a primary support contact for application end‐users.
  • Initiates the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application.
  • Initiates all phases of testing and the documentation of workflow design.
  • Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validates the impacts to the workflow.
  • Initiates the identification of issues and guides the work to resolve them.
  • Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
  • Works with stakeholders, the business community, and end users to ensure the application meets UHealth's business/clinical needs.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support and attend and participate in, applicable committees.
  • Travel to the job site during go-lives, conferences, rounding, and/or senior leadership meetings.
  • Maintains regular communication with team members, including participating in weekly project team meetings.
  • Review. the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
  • Remains knowledgeable about UHealth’s policies, procedures, and business operations.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
