About The Position

Premier Health utilizes the EPIC system as the electronic medical record (EMR) in which patient health information is entered and stored for the purpose of securing patient clinical information and enhancing patient care. Premier Health employs multiple Epic Teams that specialize in a range of applications within the Epic EMR. The Epic Hospital Billing Team is responsible for applications that encompass the billing and reimbursement functions for the hospitals of Premier Health. This includes all activities and regulations crucial to the accurate and timely generation of claims and statements and the collection and application of remitted funds. This involves an understanding of Medicare billing regulations. The Epic Programmer Analyst Sr. is responsible for analysis of complex workflows, advanced system configuration and development, application deployment and support, change documentation, and will educate and inform staff on EPIC functionality. The individual will anticipate business needs and think with a business owner mind-set based on a strong fundamental knowledge of their application and how it integrates with other systems. The individual will understand the organizational infrastructure and can recommend solutions that enable the enterprise to achieve its goals. These responsibilities require the individual to be a knowledge leader for their systems and/or applications. The individual delivers results across multiple teams to provide solutions for the enterprise. This position will include on call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree w/6+ years job experience & 3 years Epic experience & Epic Certification required OR Bachelor Degree w/4+ years job experience & 2 years Epic experience & Epic Certification required
  • IT area of study or related area required (Nursing, Medical Technology, Radiology, Mathematics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Laboratory, Pharmacy, or Medicine)
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications
  • Good analytical and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to technically contribute as a team member to strategic and tactical projects
  • Ability to accept independent responsibility to lead tactical projects of advanced complexity
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with technical staff, management, customers, vendors, other employees, physicians, patients, and visitors
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
