About The Position

The Epic Lumens Analyst is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of the Epic Lumens application, which supports endoscopy and gastroenterology procedural workflows. This role partners closely with physicians, nurses, procedural staff, IT teams, and operational leadership to develop efficient clinical workflows, improve patient safety, and ensure accurate clinical documentation, scheduling, charge capture, and regulatory compliance. The analyst serves as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Epic Lumens while collaborating across related Epic applications including OpTime, Radiant, Cupid, Prelude, Cadence, Resolute, and MyChart as needed.

Requirements

Epic Lumens application expertise
Experience with Epic implementations, upgrades, and optimization
Ability to gather and document requirements
Proficiency in configuring Epic Lumens functionality (procedure records, documentation tools, SmartForms, preference lists, order sets, charge capture workflows, reporting work queues)
Experience supporting clinical workflows (scheduling, documentation, procedure tracking)
Collaboration skills with clinical and operational teams
Testing experience (unit, integrated, regression, UAT)
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Experience coordinating with technical services and vendors
Knowledge of integrated Epic applications (Radiant, OpTime, Cupid, Anesthesia, Resolute, Cadence, Prelude, MyChart)
Documentation skills (application, build standards, change control, workflow diagrams)
Experience with go-live support and post-production stabilization
System performance monitoring and improvement identification
Familiarity with system governance, change management, and release management
Training and knowledge transfer abilities
Willingness to participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance

Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Epic Lumens

Responsibilities

Design, configure, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Lumens application functionality.
Analyze current-state workflows and recommend future-state solutions that improve operational efficiency and clinician satisfaction.
Gather and document business, clinical, and technical requirements from stakeholders.
Configure procedure records, documentation tools, SmartForms, preference lists, order sets, charge capture workflows, and reporting work queues.
Support endoscopy and gastroenterology scheduling, documentation, procedure tracking, and clinical workflows.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, anesthesia, surgery, revenue cycle, and operational teams to optimize integrated workflows.
Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, new feature adoption, optimization initiatives, and application enhancements.
Develop and execute unit testing, integrated testing, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
Coordinate issue resolution with Epic Technical Services and third-party vendors.
Support integrated workflows with Radiant, OpTime, Cupid, Anesthesia, Resolute, Cadence, Prelude, MyChart, and other Epic applications.
Maintain application documentation, build standards, change control documentation, and workflow diagrams.
Provide go-live planning, activation support, command center coverage, and post-production stabilization.
Monitor system performance and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
Assist with system governance, change management, and release management activities.
Provide end-user training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to operational teams.
Participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance as required.
