About The Position

The University of Miami Information Technology & Systems Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Epic Analyst – EpicCare Inpatient/ASAP. The Epic Analyst – EpicCare Inpatient/ASAP assists Associate Epic Analysts on the team and collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access. The Epic Analyst – EpicCare Inpatient/ASAP facilitates day-to-day application support and resolving application issues and provides day-to-day application support and resolving application issues. As an Epic Analyst – EpicCare Inpatient/ASAP, you will report to the Senior Manager and will be responsible for providing oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts on the team, implementing, building, and modifying the application, collaborating with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access, providing day-to-day application support and resolving application issues, serving as a support contact for application end-users, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining the application, supporting all phases of testing and documenting workflow design, performing the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validating the impacts to the workflow, identifying issues and working to resolve them, providing day-to-day application support, evaluating and resolving service tickets, implementing requested application changes, and retrieving requested data in a timely manner, collaborating with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies, assisting with analyzing the impact of information technology in clinical work processes, adhering to internal controls and reporting structure, participating in on-call rotations and support, attending and participating in applicable committees, maintaining regular communication with team members and participating in weekly project team meetings, and reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization
  • Epic ClinDoc, Orders, and ASAP Certifications required
  • Problem Solving: Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence
  • Dependability: Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of Epic build experience preferred
  • Previous operational, project management, and organizational skills preferred
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows preferred
  • Understanding of emergency department workflows and integration points, especially regarding patient movement (ADT) and charging preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Excel
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
