About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for collecting project data and preparing various daily, weekly, and monthly project cost control reports. Data collection will consist of project daily production, manpower and many other project costs. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for validating invoices against data collected on-site. The Project Controls Specialist will ensure accurate and timely collecting and reporting of all project data. The Project Controls Specialist will assist the Project Controls Manager with analyzing, forecasting and working on specialized reports as needed. The Project Controls Specialist shall work with and assist responsible parties to periodically validate project data. Company Overview Since 1990, CSI Electrical Contractors, Inc. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Construction Management, Electrical / Civil / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering, or Accounting/Finance.
  • Mastery of Excel, MS Office, proficiency of Primavera and/or MS Project, Viewpoint, and document control programs.
  • Understands basic accounting principles, time and productivity management and administrative skills.
  • Good communication skills to deal with owners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Possess a solid understanding of utility scale solar construction processes and means and methods.
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, able to work with limited direct supervision, self-sufficient problem solver.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Solar, Renewable Energy or Power Generation.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting daily production quantities for tracking for project productivity.
  • Working closely with the project Human Resource Administrator to collect daily manpower metrics for tracking of project productivity.
  • Working closely with the on-site Logistics teams to collect daily information on equipment, fuel and other items.
  • Working closely with the construction team to ensure daily production units are entered consistently and accurately.
  • Creating production tracking maps with guidance from the Project Controls Manager.
  • Troubleshooting any issues the construction team may have with the daily production tracking maps.
  • Managing relationships and coordinating with multiple on-site departments and fellow employees.
  • Attending weekly meetings with Project Controls Manager to review progress, productivity, cost, billings, and any other financial issues associated with their project and report material issues to senior management.
  • Attending monthly meetings with project/construction team at the project site to review progress, productivity, cost, budget, and reports results to Project Controls Manager.
  • Ensuring that all Project Control’s deliverables are completed on time and that the frequency is as required.
  • Working with field engineers to ensure valid and accurate quantities are reported daily, monitor daily productivity and planned percent complete.
  • Collecting project data and preparing various daily, weekly, and monthly project cost control reports.
  • Validating invoices against data collected on-site.
  • Assisting the Project Controls Manager with analyzing, forecasting and working on specialized reports as needed.
  • Working with and assisting responsible parties to periodically validate project data.
