About The Position

Under limited supervision, this role delivers cardiac device technical support and performs a wide variety of nursing care activities and/or administrative duties for the Cardiology medical office outpatients under the direct supervision of a licensed physician or licensed advanced practice provider. The EP Device Nurse collaborates with other healthcare professionals and agencies to meet the needs of our customers and must be competent in the interrogation and programming of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program.
  • Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State.
  • Graduate of accredited device program.
  • BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.
  • One year experience in Cardiac patient care.
  • Proficient at administering IV medications.
  • Proficient in basic aspects of EKG, Treadmill Stress Tests, Amiodarone Clinic and Anticoagulation Therapy Clinic within one year of employment.
  • Proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date.
  • One year experience in interrogation, programming and interpretation of Pacemakers and Defibrillators as well as performing EKG’s.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist
  • Two or more years’ experience in a Cardiology patient care setting including Treadmill Stress tests, EKGs, Anticoagulation Therapy and Nursing Diuretic Protocol.
