About The Position

Sustain Penn State is looking to hire a Penn State student intern who will work for at least the remainder of the 2026-2027 academic year. This student will assist with the coordination of the Undergraduate Mentor Leadership Training Program (UMLTP), which supports Penn State undergraduate students through leadership development, culturally responsive mentorship training, and community building. The intern will assist with mentor recruitment and engagement, workshop and Reflection Circle planning, program communication, and other duties as needed. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn about sustainability and mentorship/leadership development.

Requirements

Be a team player, with strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
Be a quick learner, able to manage and organize multiple sources of information.
Have a record of interest in or knowledge about sustainability, environmental science, youth education, and/or community engagement.
Be able to work independently while also contributing ideas and engaging with the EnvironMentors team.

Responsibilities

Help recruit undergraduate mentors and conduct outreach with interested organizations on the University Park campus.
Assist with tracking mentor participation, attendance, feedback, and progress throughout the program.
Assist with the coordination of the Undergraduate Mentor Leadership Training Program (UMLTP).
Assist with mentor recruitment and engagement.
Assist with workshop and Reflection Circle planning.
Assist with program communication.
Perform other duties as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
