About The Position

The Environmentalist role is responsible for disinfecting all bed sides and workstations to prevent disease transmission and assisting in the general cleanliness and neatness of the unit. This position performs extensive disinfection and sanitization of all surfaces, stocks Nurse Servers at each bed side or patient room, and ensures the overall environment is safe and clear of debris and clutter. The Environmentalist also transports non-controlled medications from Pharmacy to designated licensed healthcare practitioners or from the tube system to a secured medication storage room, and assists in transporting equipment and other items. This role is 24-32 hours per week, Monday - Friday, during the day shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently.
• Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read, and perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide), and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty.
• Applies the principles of body mechanics in lifting or moving patients and/or equipment.
• Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.

Nice To Haves

• CPR, preferred.
