About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the unit by performing extensive disinfection and sanitization of all surfaces. The Environmentalist will also stock Nurse Servers, ensure the environment is free of debris, and transport non-controlled medications and equipment. The position requires a reliable and self-directed individual who can work independently.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently.
• Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read, and perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide), and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty.
• Applies the principles of body mechanics in lifting or moving patients and/or equipment.
• Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs extensive disinfection and sanitization of all surfaces.
• Stocks Nurse Servers at each bed side or patient room.
• Ensures overall environment is safe and clear of debris and clutter.
• Transports non-controlled medications from Pharmacy to designated licensed healthcare practitioners or from tube system to secured medication storage room.
• Assists in transporting equipment and other items.
