About The Position

York is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to oversee, maintain, and service our critical environmental test hardware. In this role, you will be the primary backbone ensuring our heavy-duty Data Physics SignalForce electrodynamic shakers, horizontal slip tables, and high-power amplifiers operate at peak performance. You will work directly with our Structural & Test engineering teams to safeguard multi-million-dollar satellite payloads and space vehicles during flight-qualification testing at multiple axis. This position will be fully on-site in our Potomac office.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining industrial electrodynamic shakers, high-power amplifiers, or related aerospace test hardware.
  • Strong background in electronics, industrial plumbing (chillers/cooling loops), and precision mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical product manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work with high-voltage industrial equipment safely.
  • Must be a U.S. Person capable of obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret or TS/SCI) due to government and military contract constraints.
  • Willingness to work full-time in our Potomac St, Englewood, CO office; this position does not support remote or hybrid work.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct training or service certification from Data Physics, Ling Electronics, or Team Corporation.
  • Familiarity with Data Physics 900 Series vibration controllers or SignalStar software.
  • Experience working inside Class 10,000 / ISO 7 cleanroom environments alongside satellite flight hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on Data Physics electrodynamic shakers, amplifiers, cooling blowers, and water chillers.
  • Calibrate and adjust data acquisition systems, accelerometers, power bays, and force-limiting sensors to meet strict NASA GEVS and MIL-STD-810 requirements.
  • Reconfigure, level, and align shaker armatures with horizontal slip tables and vertical head expanders for multi-axis testing profiles. Expected to lead all future equipment repairs as needed with limited outside support.
  • Monitor hydraulic systems, pneumatic load supports, automatic armature centering systems, and cleanroom air quality (ISO 7/8 standards).
  • Diagnose and repair sudden electrical faults, mechanical resonances, or signal anomalies mid-test to prevent payload damage.
  • Keep detailed maintenance logs, equipment health histories, and safety records in compliance with aerospace auditing standards.
  • Develop a preventative maintenance program including budgeting for spare parts.
  • Work with the industrial engineering and production teams to develop and execute plans to support utility upgrades for equipment installation planning.
