About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking for an Environmental Test, Engineering Services & Support Technician in Burnsville, MN. The chosen candidate will support Environmental Stress Screening Test Lab in a team-oriented atmosphere with technicians and engineers.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Able to lift 30 pounds and work with heavy equipment, tooling and fixtures.
  • Good mechanical aptitude, with solid dexterity and hand/eye coordination to work with hand tools.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Troubleshooting experience.
  • knowledge of print reading, and schematics preferred.
  • Experience configuring test equipment for special tests as needed
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel) and basic knowledge of databases are needed.
  • Basic Mechanical, Electrical and/or Aerospace knowledge is required.
  • Must be a self-starter, ambitious, and a conscientious individual with a very high attention to detail.
  • Must enjoy working in a process controlled environment.
  • Capable of executing to technical process specifications, procedures and standards.
  • General understanding of calibrated equipment

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks in the ESS lab running vibration and thermal test profiles per customer requirements.
  • Process hardware of a developmental, prototype, or critical nature.
  • Conduct tests; monitor, analyze, reduce, and record data.
  • Perform mathematical calculations or utilize data acquisition tools
  • Maintain electronic build records, required data logs, records, and reports in accordance with Collins policies and procedures, and government regulations.
  • Implement EHS processes and procedures; recognize safety hazards, including hazardous materials.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and regular interaction with management, customers, and internal / external auditors.
  • Completing tasks and communicating effectively, both orally and written, within environmental test work centers.
  • Deliver work with a keen attention to cost and schedule.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and the Company.
  • Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
