About The Position

The role of the Environmental Technician is to facilitate the company’s water sampling and mine pool measurement programs in accordance with State and Federal regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and in a team environment, utilizing field and lab instruments for various readings and maintaining them. The technician will also be responsible for data entry, coordinating with the lab for sample bottle orders, timely sample drop-offs, assisting environmental staff with miscellaneous duties, and staying current with permit renewal effluent and monitoring requirements. All work activities must be conducted in compliance with Federal and State laws and Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

Thorough understanding of NPDES permits and state laws that relate to the mining industry.
3 years of experience in Environmental for Mining or related field.
Good driving record.
Work overtime and weekends.
Field work.
Good Computer Skills - Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, etc.

Responsibilities

Facilitates the environmental group’s water sampling and mine pool measurement programs.
Works with environmental management and staff to effectively collect water samples, measure mine pool elevations and maintain compliance.
Use field and lab instruments for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly readings.
Maintains field and lab instruments.
Data entry.
Coordinate with the lab to place sample bottle orders.
Drop samples off to the lab in a timely manner.
Help environmental staff with other miscellaneous duties.
Remain current with permit renewal effluent and 8.15A monitoring.
Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State laws and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
