About The Position

Kleinfelder's Environmental team is looking for an environmental technician to join their Tampa, FL office. This role involves assisting with field assessments for projects in the mining, energy, and commercial development industries. The primary tasks include protected species surveys, vegetative monitoring, water quality sampling, compliance monitoring, and support with other ecological assessments. The position requires strong time management, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, along with relevant computer/software experience. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, coordinate with team members and project managers, and possess a strong attention to detail. The role involves obtaining an MSHA New Miner Training certificate as part of on-the-job training. This position is anticipated to be 90% field work and 10% office work. Travel (local/overnight) may account for up to 30%. The ability to travel, both within Florida and nationwide, and a clear driving record are also required. Potential candidates should be able to work effectively in team environments and with limited supervision. Candidates should have availability to work outside of typical business hours. Flexibility in daily work schedule and willingness to work long hours in adverse environmental conditions and in remote areas is expected.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in natural resources (e.g., biological, zoology, ecology, or environmental science).
  • Experience operating a 4x4 truck.
