About The Position

Ramboll is seeking an Environmental Technician for their Site Solutions team in the Cincinnati office. This hybrid-based position is open to remote candidates in KY, IN, and OH. The role involves providing environmental support and solutions to clients, particularly on large construction and demolition projects within industrial and manufacturing settings. The position offers opportunities for client and contractor interaction and long-term career growth.

Requirements

  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Experience in industrial waste identification, management and disposal.
  • Experience in site investigation, contaminated site remedial design and implementation, and environmental due diligence including Phase I ESAs and regulatory compliance and applicability assessments.
  • Experience with material sampling.
  • The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals.
  • Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear PPE on some occasions.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% on average over the year and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel may include overnight stay and may be out of state.
  • Travel duration may range from one week to multiple weeks, depending upon the specific requirements of each project.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • An associates or B.S. degree in a relatable engineering or environmental field is a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER or RCRA training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent and team-based on-site project and contractor oversight during large construction and demolition projects.
  • Conduct sampling, identification, and quantification of materials utilized in industrial and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide support on environmental characterization, investigation, remediation, data analysis, ecological assessment, and remedial strategy and implementation projects.
  • Perform site reconnaissance of industrial and commercial facilities, primarily in the Midwest.
  • Conduct reviews of federal, state, and local environmental regulatory laws and regulations for waste, air quality, and water quality programs where current and historical chemical use, storage, disposal practices, and equipment maintenance are assessed.
  • Evaluate risks present and determine the probability for agency actions.
