About The Position

The Environmental Team Member is responsible for maintaining a high standard of overall store cleanliness and appearance, ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a safe space for staff. This role involves various cleaning tasks, customer service, and supporting store operations. The team member will follow approved procedures for cleaning, trash disposal, and floor maintenance, using assigned materials and equipment. They will also deep clean key areas, manage cleaning supplies, and proactively identify areas needing attention. Maintaining positive interactions and projecting a professional image are key aspects of this role. Additional duties may include assisting with checkout, customer engagement for loyalty programs, supporting omnichannel processes, participating in stocking and merchandising, and upholding safety and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
  • Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals.
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain store cleanliness and recovery standards.
  • Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers.
  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
  • Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
  • Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and replace products correctly.
  • Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment.
  • Mix cleaning solutions as specified.
  • Deep clean bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and other high-traffic areas.
  • Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly.
  • Notify supervisor of supply needs.
  • Seek out and complete cleaning tasks proactively.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
  • Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model.
  • Provide a fast and friendly check-out experience and execute cash handling.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
  • Execute Company policies and standards.
