About The Position

The Environmental Team Member is responsible for maintaining a high standard of store cleanliness and recovery to deliver on Brand Promises. This role involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers, and performing cleaning duties according to approved procedures. The team member will also deep clean key areas of the store, manage cleaning supplies, and ensure a clean and safe environment for customers and staff. Additionally, this role may involve other duties such as providing checkout services, engaging customers in loyalty programs, assisting with omnichannel processes, participating in stocking and planogram processes, and supporting safety and shrink programs. The position requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years or older.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
  • Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain store cleanliness and recovery standards.
  • Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers.
  • Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
  • Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
  • Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and return products to correct placement.
  • Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents.
  • Deep clean key areas of the store, including bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and high-traffic areas.
  • Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly.
  • Notify supervisor of supply needs for replenishment.
  • Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
  • Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model.
  • Provide a fast and friendly check-out experience and execute cash handling.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
  • Execute Company policies and standards.
