About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Environmental Svcs Aide performs a variety of assigned cleaning duties. The role supports a clean, safe, and orderly hospital environment and requires following written and oral instructions in English.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
Up to one month of experience.

Responsibilities

Apply the organization's values of respect, honesty, fairness, and excellence, and act in accordance with the Brown University Health Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
Dust mirrors and glass; empty trash containers; shine brass; strip old floor wax and renew floor finishes; and clean screens, radiators, drinking fountains, and telephones.
Keep towel and toilet-paper dispensers stocked as required.
Dust stairs and stairwells and keep them free of debris.
Move furniture, beds, and supplies as required.
Pick up and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
Wash floors in assigned areas, including corridors, bathrooms, shower rooms, offices, lounges, bedrooms, and sick rooms.
Sweep and dust the gym floor as required.
Spray and buff floors as required.
Clean wash tubs, sinks, and toilets properly.
Check for fire hazards and immediately report problems, difficulties, or unusual circumstances to a supervisor.
Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas in neat and orderly condition.
Follow hospital policies, rules, and regulations, including housekeeping, safety, and security requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.
