About The Position

MPS Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Supervisor to join their team at the Ford Sharonville Transmission Plant in Cincinnati, OH. This role is responsible for managing hazardous waste, coordinating environmental management programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. The position is for the 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in waste management.
  • Position requires wearing a respirator.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Develop TIS and review safety documents with the crew routinely.
  • Evaluate safety hazards and enforce necessary precautions, procedures, and PPE.
  • Inspect equipment and small tools, red tagging and removing damaged items.
  • Provide direction, equipment, small tools, materials, and supplies to the crew.
  • Act as a customer or client liaison.
  • Prepare and submit job reports as directed by the site manager, director, or customer.
  • Make recommendations on equipment purchases, personnel needs, equipment maintenance, and related matters.
  • Operate mobile equipment, such as fork trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear, including a respirator, while handling hazardous waste.
  • Load semi-trailers, tanks, and roll-off boxes for shipment to the disposal facility.
  • Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
  • Clean and maintain the organization and compliance of the Hazardous Accumulation Area.
  • Respond to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids, and containerizing cleaned-up materials for proper disposal.
  • Assist the Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick-up, and waste organization.
  • Perform inspections of waste storage areas and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies.
  • Inventory and inspect waste spill kits.
  • Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections, and other required activities.
  • Operate a fork truck to load and unload trucks.
  • Operate burden carriers.
  • Follow all plant-related safety guidelines.
