The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) seeks to protect, preserve, and enhance Massachusetts’ environmental resources and create a clean energy future for all residents. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) is the state agency responsible for ensuring clean air, land, and water. This internship offers a key role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of regional complaint intake and internal tracking processes. The intern will assist with the logistics of the regional strike force program, maintain a system to document and analyze environmental complaints, and utilize GIS to develop a mapping tool visualizing complaint trends. The intern will also screen incoming complaints, make referrals, and offer compliance assistance.
