About The Position

Triumvirate Environmental is seeking an Environmental Specialist for its Lab & Onsite Support Services team. The role supports clients on-site by managing hazardous waste programs and projects in accordance with state and federal regulations. The position reports to the Regional Lab & Onsite Support Manager and is based out of the New Braunfels, Texas office. The Environmental Specialist handles and prepares chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, completes required waste documentation, conducts inspections and occasional EHS audits, and responds to spills. The role also involves providing client support, developing expertise in applicable regulations, and participating in rotating on-call Emergency Response shifts. It is safety-sensitive and frequently involves handling hazardous chemicals and biological waste, as well as using personal protective equipment. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry, or relevant military experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective, professional interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
Ability to build strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
Ability to work overtime on a regular basis.
Willingness to work flexible hours during the Monday-through-Friday work week.
Ability to complete a two- to three-year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management.
Ability to handle hazardous chemicals and biological waste and put on and take off personal protective equipment; the position is safety-sensitive.
Ability to report to the New Braunfels, Texas office within one hour during rotating Emergency Response shifts.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Reliable transportation.
Consent to motor vehicle record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening inclusive of THC.
Participation in random drug screening inclusive of THC after employment.
Eligibility to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
Ability to regularly lift 60 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Prior relevant industry experience.
Prior successful experience in a customer service role.
Active HAZWOPER 24- or 40-hour certification.
Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s health and safety practices.
Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including creating federal and state waste documents and managing related paperwork.
Safely handle hazardous waste containers at client sites and load and unload waste from vehicles.
Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
Occasionally perform and document Environmental Health and Safety audits for clients.
Provide outstanding client support and innovative solutions.
Develop expertise in state and federal regulations, including RCRA, DOT, and OSHA, to help meet clients’ compliance needs.
Conduct spill response measures, including spill assessment and cleanup.
Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities as part of the Emergency Response team.
