About The Position

This position will be primarily responsible for all Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) matters at the FPC-TX facility while also leading regulatory projects, tracking & implementation of emerging rules, regulations and environmental technologies, providing guidance, and maintaining compliance with existing, modified and new State and Federal environmental regulations as well as corporate environmental policies and procedures at FPC-TX. This role will require several interdisciplinary responsibilities, between EHS experience, fieldwork, as well as technical knowledge of a chemical plant and its processes. Operation Clean Sweep is a commitment that touches on all aspects of the company, and is a critical part of Formosa’s goals as they relate to the environment, health, and safety. The person for this role should be motivated in completing work to the means of this goal, integrating leadership skills and organizational proficiency, utilizing past experience and field-based knowledge to solidify and promote OCS as an integral part of operations of the plant. Performs routine engineering tasks using standard procedures including regular inspections of the facility as well as reporting services as needed.

Requirements

  • 6 -10 years of experience in OCS and environmental experience in a chemical/ petrochemical plant preferred.
  • OCS program implementation experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, power point and database programs.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, curious and eager to learn
  • High attention to detail
  • Willingness to be accountable for areas of responsibility
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience required.
  • TWIC required.
  • Annual OCS seminar attendance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience preferred.
  • Associates degree with 8 years of direct job-related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate implementation of the OCS program and policy at the site by working with Operations to implement and maintain the program.
  • Independently summarize and present OCS information on a quarterly basis.
  • Independently develop and implement Environmental programs that provide a method of compliance for the operating units individually and the facility as a whole, including compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company safety, health and security programs and practices in line with corporate and site goals/objectives.
  • Coach and lead individual team members and groups for continued development of Environmental Competency throughout the organization.
  • Determine maintenance, operations and other support needs through interaction and provide regulatory interpretation/support to meet corporate objectives/goals.
  • Facilitate regulatory compliance through implementation of training, policies/procedures, environmental evaluation of compliance as applicable and provide execution/assistance for special projects as needed.
  • Execute assigned responsibilities, activities, and tasks in a manner protective of the environment so as to prevent/minimize environmental releases/emissions/issues, in line with corporate and site goals/objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program.
  • Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program.
  • Maintain the plant in like new condition.
