We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to provide Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) expertise for The Shepherd Color Company and Glass Coatings and Concepts, LLC, by supporting company initiatives with a health and safety emphasis. You will partner with other EHS team members to manage day-to-day plant safety initiatives, maintain various regulatory requirements, and facilitate the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in EHS, Chemistry, or Engineering or other science or safety degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of environmental EHS experience required, 5+ preferred.
  • Chemical industry experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and with all levels of the organization and stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and records
  • Able to concisely present information and train others
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Process Safety Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with EHS team to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain effective NESHAP program and other environmental programs.
  • Actively read and research EHS publications, helping keep plant aware and up-to-date on regulations.
  • Participate in and eventually lead routine EHS training (forklift, confined space, lockout/tagout, spill team, fall protection, DOT, hazardous waste, fire extinguisher, behavioral based safety, employee orientations, hazard identification and risk reduction, etc.), develop new programs as needed, and maintain records.
  • Lead plant safety quarterly audits, new equipment installations/inspections, and pre-start up safety inspections.
  • Other duties will include serving as regulatory technical expert on needed topics; reviewing regulations as assigned; report writing and data collection; procedure writing and review; researching and order supplies; maintaining departmental computer programs; recordkeeping; and serving as back up to other team members.
  • Support and serve as a back-up to EHS staff including activities at Glass Coatings and Concepts.
  • Provide needed support for security related functions.
