Performs technical work directing activities concerning inspecting, sampling, testing, and evaluating in an environmental pollution control and/or permitting program. The ideal candidate for the Environmental Specialist position is a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a strong foundational knowledge of environmental science, regulations, and best practices. They possess an Associates or bachelor’s degree in natural or environmental science, or a related field, and have a minimum of 3 months experience conducting fieldwork, data collection, and environmental assessments. The candidate demonstrates excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret scientific data and regulatory requirements to support environmental compliance and sustainability goals. They are proficient in using GIS, environmental monitoring tools, and relevant software, and can communicate findings effectively through written reports and presentations. Strong interpersonal skills enable them to collaborate with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and the public. The ideal candidate is committed to environmental stewardship and continuous learning, and shows initiative in supporting programs related to environmental protection, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.
