The Tanning Branch Inspector ensures regulatory compliance in tanning facilities by conducting technical inspections and evaluating operations for adherence to state and federal requirements. The position provides a comprehensive perspective on tanning‑related issues by reviewing facility data, researching evolving technology, and consulting with subject‑matter professionals. Work includes determining violations, generating accurate inspection reports, and communicating findings clearly to facility owners. The inspector supports enforcement through timely follow‑up with non‑compliant facilities and maintains thorough knowledge of the health risks associated with tanning. The role also participates in scheduled emergency nuclear exercises four times per year, contributing technical expertise within the Branch’s program framework. This position is Home-based but will cover the Eastern region of North Carolina.
