About The Position

Performs a variety of general and specialized cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the hospital. Assists in the environmental services department as needed to lift, move, and relocate furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. This is a full-time, 2nd shift position working 80 hours per biweekly period, Sunday-Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Team members must be available for on-call rotation 6-8 weekends per year. The starting pay rate is $17.00/hr, with pay for experience.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English at a level that enables the individual to perform the functions of the job satisfactorily.
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties of the Environmental Services Technician I.
  • Buffs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
  • Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. as directed.
  • Shampoos rugs and furniture.
  • Cleans vents, fans, and other equipment using vacuum machines.
  • Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and vacuums.
  • Sets up chairs and tables for special events and folds and stores them after the event.
  • Moves large items in and out of storage.
  • Performs custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned when not involved in moving projects.
  • Assists in handing drapes and dividers and takes them down for cleaning.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Performs other related duties as identified.

  • Supports and meets the values and standards of the organization to safeguard patient and business/operational information.
