About The Position

Performs duties involving the cleaning and disinfection of areas occupied at Boys Town. This role is responsible for general cleaning duties and monitoring maintenance conditions, performing routine and maintenance cleaning and disinfection processes in assigned areas such as exam rooms, classrooms, gyms, locker rooms, auditoriums, offices, cafeterias, restrooms, and showers. Adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.) is required, which may include general cleaning and disinfection, hard surface maintenance, floor refurbishing, and carpet and upholstery extraction. The position also involves maintaining an uncluttered environment, identifying and reporting safety hazards, securing buildings at the end of the day, spot cleaning walls, washing windows as needed, and removing waste and litter. Proper utilization of approved chemicals with appropriate PPE and reporting of safety concerns like floods, sewer backups, broken water lines, leaks, tripping hazards, equipment malfunctions, and environmental concerns are also key responsibilities. All required training and competencies must be completed.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks per policy and as directed in a professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate and maintain a satisfactory and harmonious working relationship with all levels of leadership, staff, public, and other consumers in a professional, courteous and tactful manner.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of general Departmental, FFBH and BTNRH policies and administrative procedures.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write basic English required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general cleaning duties and monitors maintenance conditions.
  • Perform routine and maintenance cleaning and disinfection processes in areas assigned (i.e. exam rooms, classroom, gym, locker room auditorium, office, cafeteria, restrooms, showers, etc.) in adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.), which may include but not limited to: general cleaning and disinfection, hard surface maintenance, floor refurbishing, carpet and upholstery extraction.
  • Maintains an uncluttered environment; identifies and reports possible safety hazards.
  • Secure buildings at the end of the day to ensure security and confinement (doors and windows)
  • Spot clean walls, wash windows as needed and remove waste and litter.
  • Utilizes approved chemicals according to manufacturer directions with appropriate PPE
  • Reports safety concerns when identified, i.e. floods, sewer back ups, broken water lines, leaks, tripping hazards, equipment malfunction, environmental concerns, break/fix issues, etc.
  • Completes all required training and competencies as assigned.
