This is a full-time evenings role with rotating weekends and holidays. The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient rooms and assigned areas for Sanford Health patients, visitors, and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. Tasks include emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors using various equipment. The role requires demonstrating knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment to provide a clean and sterile environment. Responsibilities may include cleaning various locations such as patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other work areas to meet health standards. The technician will wear proper protective equipment, keep storage areas stocked and tidy, and may use pagers and other technology. Assistance in laundry areas and use of Sanford technology applications may also be required. The position involves significant physical activity including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials, with the ability to lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull variable weight limits. The individual will be on their feet for the majority of the shift and may be exposed to noise from equipment. Work hours may vary depending on patient needs and may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
