Certification/Registration/Licensure: None
Must be able to follow both oral and written directions.
Must be able to demonstrate sanitation techniques, and the use of cleaning materials; OR, be able to learn the department's techniques and use of cleaning materials within a ninety-day period.

Responsibilities

Cleans assigned areas to assure the optimal clean, sanitary and safe environment for all internal/external customers of the hospital and Parkland.
Assigned duties may include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, collecting trash, bed area cleaning, buffing floors, detailing, etc.
May be responsible for responding to and using the “bed tracking” system to assure immediate cleaning of rooms after patient discharge for the immediate availability of the room to newly assigned patients.
Harmoniously works with all contacts inclusive of patients, visitors, hospital and Parkland employees and managers, to promote optimal customer services and customer satisfaction in accord with the missions and objectives of the department, the hospital and Parkland.
Maintains, correctly uses, and cares for all environmental services materials, equipment and supplies, and notifies supervisor when supply requisitions, maintenance, and/or repair is needed to assure the optimal usage of materials and safety for department services and resources.
Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction.
Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure.
Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area.
Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans.
Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
