Atrium Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician. This position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures, sweeping, scrubbing, refinishing floors, vacuuming, and shampooing carpet. They will also be responsible for re-stocking restrooms, replacing light bulbs, reporting repairs, removing waste (soiled linen, trash, sharps, solid and hazardous waste, recycling), and keeping equipment clean and orderly. The role requires maintaining a safe working environment, complying with infection control guidelines, and attending required in-service education and training classes. The position involves working indoors and potentially assisting with outdoor cleaning, using ladders, and handling cleaning chemicals. The role also includes removing waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling material, and emptying cigarette receptacles. The technician must keep equipment clean and orderly and report any failures or mechanical issues. Maintaining a safe working environment and providing quality service by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards is crucial. Attending all required in-service education and training classes, including safety update programs, is necessary to maintain technical knowledge. Consistently demonstrating the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines is expected.
