The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, refinishing floors, vacuuming, shampooing carpet, re-stocking restrooms, and replacing light bulbs. This role also involves removing waste, including collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash and sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste, recycling materials, and emptying cigarette receptacles. The technician will maintain equipment, report failures, and ensure a safe working environment by complying with procedures, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards. The position requires attending all required in-service education and training classes. Some work may be performed outdoors, and the use of a ladder may be necessary. The role involves heavy contact with cleaning chemicals and disinfecting agents.
