About The Position

The Environmental Service Technician (Building Maintenance) at the St Paul's is responsible for maintaining the physical condition, and functionality of the long-term care facility. This role ensures a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for residents, staff, and visitors by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and custodial tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role, ideally in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective time management and prioritization abilities.
Physical capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if applicable).

Nice To Haves

Technical training or certification in building maintenance, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.
EPA Section 608 Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of the facility's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, and other critical equipment.
Address and resolve work orders promptly, including minor repairs to fixtures, doors, flooring, and furniture.
Maintain records of all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Monitor and manage building systems, including lighting, heating, cooling, and security.
Assist in emergency response situations, such as power outages or water leaks.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire code regulations.
Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and inspections.
Provide prompt and courteous responses to resident and staff maintenance requests.
Maintain a respectful and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, visitors, and staff.
Assist with furniture moves, room setups, and event preparation as required.
