About The Position

Performs daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, wards, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, and other assigned areas in accordance with Environmental Services department standards and hospital objectives. Supports Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s mission, vision, and values by helping ensure safe patient care and a safe environment. This regular position works an evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM on variable workdays.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Detailed knowledge of the correct use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
Understanding of procedures for handling, mixing, using, labeling, and disposing of chemicals used in job functions.
Knowledge of appropriate chemical-spill cleanup methods and procedures for responding to chemical exposures.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a hospital setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent service in interactions with coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, and volunteers.
Clean assigned areas according to established schedules and prescribed methods.
Dust horizontal surfaces; empty wastepaper baskets; remove trash; and clean the inside and outside of trash containers.
Spot-clean walls and windows and replenish room supplies.
Clean furniture and polish metal and porcelain bathroom fixtures and other metal surfaces.
Dry-mop and wet-mop floors in rooms and offices and spot-clean carpets as needed.
Make beds as needed and sort and distribute linens as assigned.
Perform checkout cleaning as assigned.
Follow procedures for handling, mixing, using, labeling, and disposing of chemicals.
Support continuous assessment and improvement of service quality.
Support admissions, discharges, and transfers by responding promptly and efficiently to cleaning and turnover needs, and communicate barriers to the appropriate leader.
