The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing surfaces, sweeping, scrubbing, refinishing floors, vacuuming carpets, re-stocking restrooms, and replacing light bulbs. This role also involves removing waste, collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash and sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste, recycling materials, and emptying cigarette receptacles. The technician will keep equipment clean and orderly, report equipment failures, and maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards. Attending all required in-service education and training classes is also a key function. Most of the work is indoors but may assist with outdoor cleaning, potentially involving the use of a ladder. The role requires heavy contact with cleaning chemicals and disinfecting agents.
