The Norfolk Regional Center (NRC) is seeking an PRN On-Call Environmental Services Technician to help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for the individuals we serve and the employees who support them every day. As a member of our Environmental Services team, you'll perform a variety of housekeeping duties and building support duties that directly contribute to the operation of one of Nebraska's premier behavioral health facilities. The Norfolk Regional Center has been serving Nebraskans for well over a century. Established in 1886 as the Norfolk Hospital for the Insane, the campus has evolved alongside advances in behavioral health care. Today, NRC is a state-operated psychiatric hospital within the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), providing inpatient behavioral health treatment for adults from across Nebraska. Our mission is to provide compassionate, recovery-focused care in a safe and therapeutic environment. Every employee—from healthcare professionals to facilities staff—plays an essential role in supporting that mission. Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning campus helps ensure the best possible environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This is an entry-level to semi-skilled environmental services position responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the NRC building, cleaning equipment, and facilities. The successful candidate will perform routine custodial duties to maintain high standards of sanitation required for infection control and accreditation or regulatory standards, while working independently or as part of a team under general supervision.
