About The Position

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. The role involves covering all areas of the facility, potentially carrying a department work phone and vocera throughout the shift. Daily assigned areas may vary depending on staffing. This is a very physical job requiring standing/walking for 8 hours constantly, bending, getting up and down easily, good hand dexterity, and the ability to bend and lift loads. Good vision and attention to detail are also necessary.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours constantly.
  • Ability to bend and get down and up easily.
  • Good hand dexterity.
  • Ability to bend and lift loads.
  • Good vision and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, team player, punctual, hardworking, flexible, self-motivated, and brings a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition.
  • Meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
  • Cover all areas of the facility.
  • Carry department work phone and vocera throughout shift.
  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
  • Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards.
  • Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)).
  • Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
