About The Position

Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies is seeking a committed and detail‑oriented Environmental Services Technician I to support our mission of providing a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, families, and staff. Your work directly contributes to infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and the overall quality of care delivered at one of the nation’s leading women’s hospitals. The Environmental Services Technician I performs essential daily cleaning and disinfection duties that uphold hospital safety standards and support timely room turnover. This role is vital to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas using approved procedures.
• Support patient throughput by ensuring timely room turnover for admissions and discharges.
• Remove biomedical waste, trash, and soiled linens; replenish supplies as needed.
• Operate UV disinfection equipment when required.
• Follow all infection prevention protocols, including proper PPE use and isolation precautions.
• Utilize department technology systems such as Bed Management.
• Report unsafe conditions and submit Engineering Service Requests.
• Maintain compliance with Orlando Health safety, risk management, and HIPAA standards.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
