About The Position

Environment Services Technician performs general cleaning services for the Health System, assists in training other departmental employees, and practices excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

  • High School (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Collects and transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
  • Dust mops and wet mops tiled floors. Machine scrubs and power buffs floors as assigned.
  • Follows all infection prevention and control practices, including Standard Precautions, Transmission-Based Precautions, and hand hygiene.
  • Maintains assigned equipment in clean, operable condition, assists with preventative maintenance and reports repair needs to supervisor immedi
  • Mixes, uses and disposes of chemicals according to directions.
  • Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
  • Polishes furniture, doors, chrome, stainless steel, etc.
  • Replenishes supplies.
  • Terminally cleans isolation rooms, surgical rooms and patient rooms as needed.
