About The Position

Wellfound is hiring an Environmental Services Tech for Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital, a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Tacoma, Washington. The hospital provides acute psychiatric care to voluntary and involuntary patients and is accredited by the Department of Health and The Joint Commission. The Environmental Services Tech helps maintain a clean and sanitary hospital environment, including patient care areas, administrative areas, and floors. The position is three 10-hour shifts per week. Employees must join the SEIU Union within 30 calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing unless approved for a religious exemption.

Requirements

Effective oral and written English communication skills.
Ability to independently use a computer and enter data multiple times per day.
Heart Saver certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Experience in environmental services in a healthcare or hotel setting.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas and equipment using appropriate techniques, supplies, and safety precautions.
Follow and demonstrate knowledge of infection control policies and procedures for maintaining the patient care environment.
Dispose appropriately of regular, recyclable, and regulated medical waste, following waste-segregation requirements.
Use EPIC on a computer to track individual progress and work completed throughout the day.
Coordinate with other staff to exchange routine information, submit work orders, request supplies, and schedule maintenance work.
Follow HIPAA and privacy laws.
