About The Position

Wellfound is hiring an Environmental Services Tech for Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital, a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Tacoma, Washington. The hospital provides acute psychiatric care to voluntary and involuntary patients and is accredited by the Department of Health and The Joint Commission. The Environmental Services Tech helps maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout patient care areas, administrative areas, and floors. The position is three 10-hour shifts per week. Employment requires joining the SEIU Union within 30 calendar days and remaining a member in good standing, unless an approved religious exemption applies.

Requirements

Effective oral and written English communication skills.
Ability to independently use a computer and enter data multiple times per day.
Heart Saver certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Experience in environmental services in a healthcare or hotel setting.
Join the SEIU Union within 30 calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing unless an approved religious exemption applies.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas and equipment using appropriate techniques, supplies, and safety precautions.
Follow infection-control policies and procedures to maintain the patient-care environment.
Dispose of regular, recyclable, and regulated medical waste appropriately and follow waste-segregation requirements.
Use a computer and EPIC as the primary tool to track progress and work completed throughout the day.
Work with other staff to exchange routine information, submit work orders, request supplies, and schedule maintenance work.
Follow HIPAA and privacy laws.
