About The Position

Valley View Hospital is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Tech for its Environmental Services department. The EVS Technician is part of the non-clinical support team and helps maintain a safe, sanitary, and infection-free environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The work contributes to patient care and helps prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections. The position is on the day shift with rotating weekends. Work assignments and schedules may vary, so flexibility is required. Experience is preferred but not required, and the hospital is willing to train the right candidate. The starting wage is $20.00 per hour, with entry pay dependent on experience and skill set. Shift differentials may apply for qualifying evening and weekend hours.

Requirements

Read and comprehend written instructions in English, including chemical labels, nursing-unit discharge boards, area assignment sheets, department message boards, and bulletin boards.
Comprehend verbal instructions in English for daily communications.
Use and understand a Vocera or similar communication device.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Be able to wear a facemask as part of personal protective equipment.
Be able to climb stairs and ladders for cleaning purposes.
Successfully complete a Fit-for-Work test.
Be responsible and willing to work a flexible schedule.
Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Hospital housekeeping experience; commercial cleaning, janitorial, or healthcare-setting experience is also a plus.

Responsibilities
