As the supervisor, you'll be involved in planning, schedule and managing staff within the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Completion of Leadership Development course preferred.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, effectively.
  • Ability to work well under time constraints.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of infection control procedures and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in assessing, planning, organizing, scheduling and supervising the work of all Environmental Service personnel engaged in maintaining the facility in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
  • Will continuously make rounds of the hospital to determine special assignments or project work which is needed.
  • Conducts inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the department.
  • Plans and conducts meetings to enhance each employee’s knowledge of their duties.
  • Other supervision and resources as requested by the department manager/director.
  • Works in a fast paced and potentially stressful environment.
  • Makes decisions to act on responsibilities without being instructed.
  • Educates staff in facility and department standards designed for a specific environment.
  • Dresses to meet dress code specified for a leadership position.
  • Practices good public relations and follows all safety regulations.
  • First line supervision of housekeeping service delivery, enabling quality outcomes and timely completion of schedules.
