As the supervisor, you'll be involved in planning, schedule and managing staff within the department.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Completion of Leadership Development course preferred.
- Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, effectively.
- Ability to work well under time constraints.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of infection control procedures and universal precautions.
Responsibilities
- Involved in assessing, planning, organizing, scheduling and supervising the work of all Environmental Service personnel engaged in maintaining the facility in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Will continuously make rounds of the hospital to determine special assignments or project work which is needed.
- Conducts inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the department.
- Plans and conducts meetings to enhance each employee’s knowledge of their duties.
- Other supervision and resources as requested by the department manager/director.
- Works in a fast paced and potentially stressful environment.
- Makes decisions to act on responsibilities without being instructed.
- Educates staff in facility and department standards designed for a specific environment.
- Dresses to meet dress code specified for a leadership position.
- Practices good public relations and follows all safety regulations.
- First line supervision of housekeeping service delivery, enabling quality outcomes and timely completion of schedules.
