About The Position

The goal of Environmental Services at Samaritan Hospital is to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff in keeping with the mission and philosophy of St. Peter's Health Care Services. As the supervisor, you'll be involved in planning, schedule and managing staff within the department.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Completion of Leadership Development course preferred.
Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, effectively.
Ability to work well under time constraints.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to work independently.
Basic knowledge of infection control procedures and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

Assessing, planning, organizing, scheduling and supervising the work of all Environmental Service personnel engaged in maintaining the facility in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
Continuously making rounds of the hospital to determine special assignments or project work which is needed.
Conducting inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the department.
Planning and conducting meetings to enhance each employee’s knowledge of their duties.
Other supervision and resources as requested by the department manager/director.
Works in a fast paced and potentially stressful environment.
Makes decisions to act on responsibilities without being instructed.
Educates staff in facility and department standards designed for a specific environment.
Dresses to meet dress code specified for a leadership position.
Practices good public relations and follows all safety regulations.
First line supervision of housekeeping service delivery, enabling quality outcomes and timely completion of schedules.
