About The Position

Lakewood is seeking a dependable, organized, and hands-on Environmental Services Supervisor - Housekeeping to lead their housekeeping, floor care, and laundry operations. This role is ideal for an experienced environmental services or housekeeping professional who enjoys leading a team, staying active, maintaining high standards, and making a meaningful difference in a senior living community. The Environmental Services team plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming community for residents. The Supervisor will work alongside supportive leadership and a collaborative team, helping lead the department responsible for housekeeping, floor care, and laundry.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of housekeeping or environmental services experience
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills, including scheduling, timecards, corrective actions, and inventory tracking
  • Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively with others
  • Ability to work 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend
  • Valid driver's license may be required if driving a car or golf cart is part of the position

  • Prior supervisory or team-lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in daily housekeeping, floor care, and laundry activities.
  • Assign daily work and coordinate departmental schedules.
  • Help ensure appropriate staffing, coverage, productivity, and timely completion of assignments.
  • Train and mentor team members on cleaning techniques, infection control, resident interaction, and safety procedures.
  • Provide immediate coaching and corrective guidance when performance, safety, or conduct concerns arise.
  • Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
  • May approve PTO and timecards in accordance with department procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are maintained.
  • Monitor resident areas, common spaces, and support areas.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Monitor equipment and report maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Assist with inventory tracking and departmental records.
  • Maintain required logs and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with infection-control, hazardous-waste removal, safety, and company policies.
  • Coordinate and assist with special environmental services and laundry projects.
  • Set up and break down furniture and equipment for special events and activities.
  • Assist with trash removal and sanitation as needed.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, guests, and team members.
  • Model professionalism, patience, and respect when interacting with residents.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and community leadership.
  • Lead by example and remain willing to work alongside the team when operational needs require it.
