About The Position

The Environmental Services Specialty Technician works in specialty units at Chandler Regional Medical Center to provide a safe care environment for patients and staff, and visitors as appropriate to the setting. The role focuses on cleaning and disinfecting specialty areas, including surgical services and perioperative suites, cath labs, and endoscopy areas, applying quality assurance practices to reduce harmful pathogens. The primary focus is cleaning in Surgical Services.

The technician performs floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, maintains floor equipment, and completes project and specialty tasks based on facility needs. The role requires knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfection principles, safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products, while following organizational safety, risk management, infection control, and compliance standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency with floor care equipment and specialized cleaning and disinfection protocols.
• Strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.
• Thoroughness, proactivity, effective communication with hospital personnel, respect for privacy, and strong personal accountability.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Floor care experience.
• Previous healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment, with a primary focus on cleaning in Surgical Services.
• Complete assigned floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting.
• Adhere to organizational safety, risk management, and infection control standards while promoting a culture of safety.
• Clean and perform routine maintenance on floor equipment, requesting assistance from plant operations and maintenance as needed.
• Perform project work and specialty tasks according to facility needs, such as setting up or dismantling conference rooms, cleaning stairwells and elevators, and hanging cubicle curtains.
• Apply healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, including proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products.
