About The Position

St. Anthony Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center located in Lakewood, Colorado, is seeking an Environmental Services Specialist. This role is essential for maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The specialist will primarily focus on cleaning procedural areas including the Operating Room, GI, Cath Lab, IR, Pharmacy Clean Rooms, Sterile Processing, and performing terminal cleans according to departmental procedures and standards. The position requires excellent customer service skills and industry knowledge in cleaning specialized areas such as the Emergency Department and Operating Rooms.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to distinguish between levels of disinfection and perform low and intermediate level disinfection.
• Ability to explain orally or in writing the differences between levels of disinfection and perform intermediate level disinfection in areas where required.
• Knowledge and skills in the use of power equipment, conventional and high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaning equipment, wet, dry and power vacuum equipment and push sweeper.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines.
• Effectively uses computers and mobile devices.
• Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others.
• Communicates orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where co-workers and team members reciprocate in kind.
• Ability to work without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Primarily cleaning procedural areas including the Operating Room, GI, Cath Lab, IR, Pharmacy Clean Rooms, Sterile Processing, and performing terminal cleans.
• Following procedures and standards established by the department.
• Providing excellent customer service when working with patients, visitors, and other staff members.
• Utilizing industry knowledge in the cleaning of specific departments such as the Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, and other unique procedural areas.
