About The Position

The Environmental Services Shift Leader monitors the completion of all assigned tasks, observes work performance, and reports infractions to the supervisor. This role involves daily interaction with customers to gauge satisfaction, address concerns, and assist visitors. The Shift Leader also completes their own daily tasks and special projects, distributes supplies and equipment, and performs inspections to ensure high-quality standards are met. Additionally, they train new staff, assist with equipment selection and maintenance, aid in the hiring process, and prepare weekly supply orders. The position may also require performing duties of an Environmental Services Associate/Tech if needed. Other related duties are assigned by the Director of Facilities or Supervisor of Environmental Services.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred
1-2 years of experience (requires completion of training schedule)
Good communicator
Proven ability to direct and guide people and foster teamwork.
Must be able to read and have knowledge of products, equipment, and procedures in Environmental Service Operations.

Responsibilities

Monitors the completion of all assigned tasks.
Observes work performance and reports infractions to supervisor.
Interfaces with customers daily to measure satisfaction and takes action to correct customer concerns.
Greets visitors cheerfully and offers assistance as needed.
Completes own daily tasks and any special projects assigned.
Distributes supplies and equipment as needed.
Performs inspections to monitor work performance, correct improper procedures, and ensure the highest quality of standards.
Trains newly hired staff in proper work procedures, safety, and in-services.
Assists in the selection and proper maintenance of equipment.
Assists in the hiring process.
Prepares weekly supply orders.
May perform duties of an Environmental Services Associate/Tech in the absence of a staff person.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities or Supervisor of Environmental Services.
