About The Position

The City of Chandler Management Services Department is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as an Environmental Services Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing complex technical and regulatory compliance guidance to City departments and divisions, with a primary focus on stormwater management and compliance. The role involves implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the City’s environmental compliance programs, with significant responsibility for the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program and associated stormwater permit requirements. This includes ensuring City operations comply with Federal, State, County, and Local environmental regulations and applicable stormwater regulations. The Environmental Management Division provides environmental (air, water, stormwater and waste) compliance guidance and oversight to City operations and facilities. This includes management of the City’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Permit, review environmental due diligence for property acquisitions, maintain central environmental compliance files, and manage clean-up activities when environmental spills occur on City property and report to the proper regulatory agency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Conservation and Management or a related field
  • 4 years of experience with regulatory compliance or environmental management activities
  • Pass a respirator fit testing within 6 months of hire or promotion
  • A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complex technical and regulatory compliance guidance to City departments and divisions, with a primary focus on stormwater management and compliance.
