About The Position

The McCall Farms Environmental Services I will receive instruction from leads, supervisors and/or managers for facilitating a clean, orderly environment around the McCall Farms facility. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the day-to-day activities are fulfilled. The job is nearly 100% outdoors and requires the ability to tolerate a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions, including wet and raining conditions. Heavy lifting of greater than 50-100 lbs. can be expected. Responsibilities include shoveling, sweeping debris, operating lawn care equipment, and potentially working at heights or in pits. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment is required, with the ability to learn multiple types. A valid driver's license is also necessary.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an insurable motor vehicle record dating back at least 3 years.
  • Forklift and heavy equipment experience.
  • Lawncare, specifically weeding and mowing.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers effectively.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to tolerate temperature ranges from 30 degrees Fahrenheit to 100+. Humidity ranging from 30% to 90% and sometimes wet and raining conditions.
  • Heavy lifting of greater than 50 – 100 lbs. can be expected.
  • Required to operate heavy equipment proficiently. Must be skilled/experienced and able to pass written and practical tests on at least 3 of the following with the ability to proficiently learn the rest: Forklifts (Standard and rotating), Frontend loaders, Skid-steers/Bobcats, Lulls, Dump trucks, Tractors, Backhoes, Street sweepers, Zero turn lawn mowers, And more.
  • May be required to operate company truck. A valid driver’s license will be required.
  • Frequently required to stand or walk for long periods.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel and or crouch.
  • May be required to lift or pull up and greater than 100lbs.
  • Employee while be required to operate multiple forms of heavy equipment; front end loaders, bobcats, skid steers, lulls and forklifts are just a few examples.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a clean, orderly environment around the McCall Farms facility.
  • Know and understand company policies as spelled out in the Employee Handbook.
  • Exemplify a high standard of work ethic, including promptness, steady work, respect for leaders and coworkers, and willingness to follow instructions.
  • Proactively look for work opportunities when day-to-day activities slow down.
  • Shovel, sweep debris, and remove it to appropriate bins, totes, and trash containers.
  • Operate weed-eaters, lawn mowers, and other lawn care equipment.
  • May be required to work at heights of 25’ or higher as well as pit work, observing all safety requirements.
  • Operate heavy equipment proficiently, including forklifts, frontend loaders, skid-steers/Bobcats, Lulls, dump trucks, tractors, backhoes, street sweepers, and zero-turn lawn mowers.
  • May be required to operate a company truck.
  • Receive and act on instructions from leadership promptly and without having to be told multiple times.
  • Be flexible and able to discontinue one activity and move to another as priorities change.
  • Perform scheduled weekend workdays as mandatory.
  • Show respect to leadership even when asked to do tasks that are not the most appealing.
