About The Position
The Environmental Services Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the facility in a clean, sanitary and safe condition. They must be able to perform assigned duties and functions in accordance with the standard policy and procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with hospital objectives. The EVS attendant must maintain good public relations while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality and satisfaction and exhibit Community Cares standards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred
- Prior experience in healthcare or commercial housekeeping preferred
- Experience in operating all types of electric and battery-operated floor care equipment preferred
Responsibilities
- Remove, handle, transport bio-medical waste, hazardous waste, clean linen soiled linen and regular waste
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, ancillary areas, offices and public areas to include sterile areas, isolation rooms
- Dust mop and wet mop floors; vacuum carpeted areas
- Stock supplies to include paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer, sharp boxes, and gloves
- Run and maintain floor care equipment within scope
- Move furniture to include patient beds and mattresses
- Assure all set ups are completed in a timely manner and in the appropriate style
- Strips, scrubs, re-coats and buffs hard surface floors using battery and electrical equipment
- Bonnet and extract carpeted floors
- Count par levels for clean linen and deliver clean linen
- All other duties as assigned
