About The Position

The Environmental Services (EVS) Tech I maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in all areas of the hospital in accordance with Community Memorial Healthcare quality standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. An essential daily job responsibility of an EVS Tech I is cleaning patient rooms throughout the hospital, including the possibility of cleaning COVID-19 patient rooms and/or having contact with COVID-19. As Community Memorial Healthcare takes employee health and safety seriously, the EVS Department provides Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (masks, gloves, etc.), along with education and training for all EVS Techs to help keep hospital employees, patients, and the community safe.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and oral directions in English
Ability to understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS), pertaining to the use and handling of chemicals
Ability to interact with patients, customers, co-workers and physicians in a courteous and service-oriented manner
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Previous housekeeping, janitorial or related experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish
